Greater Lowell grounds Lowell Catholic 21-8

Chelmsford – Jayson Frasca did it just for the kicks, Wednesday night.

The Greater Lowell sophomore quarterback rushed for the game-winning touchdown, while adding three extra point kicks, as the Gryphons gave Lowell Catholic the boot, 21-8, Nov. 24 at Chelmsford High.

With the win Greater Lowell closed out 2021 with a 4-7 record, while the Crusaders wrapped the season at 6-5.

Freshman running back Averin Chipasueth got the Gryphons ground game going, breaking into the end zone on a 9-yard strike in the opening moments. The rising star rushed 28 times for a game-high 117-yards, including his tenth TD of the season. Frasca added the extra point kick, giving his club the early advantage. The sophomore signal-caller was just getting warmed up. He capped the first stanza with a flurry, breaking through on a 14-yard touchdown scamper, adding his second PAT to take the 14-0 lead. His team never looked back.
