In the aftermath of some headline-making crisis situations, there is often finger-pointing and calls for heads to roll. On occasion, those responsible for the crisis opt to be proactive and decide that it is better to jump than to be pushed.
Actor Will Smith appeared to prefer the latter over the former today when he suddenly and unexpectedly announced his resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences less than a week after he slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage at the Academy Awards in Hollywood.
