Written in Granite: Space Force base in our backyard

NASHUA, N.H. — How well do you know your community and the state you live in?

I always like to believe that I am up to date on New Hampshire’s happenings, but in all honesty, there’s plenty that I’m in the dark about.

Take, for instance, the tiny town of New Boston, which is about 20 miles away from Nashua. The population is about 6,000.

Did you know that there’s a space force station located there on 2,800 acres of land?

I know now, only because of the mysterious, fatal shooting of a Massachusetts man who was killed there on an access road to the station on May 15 at around 11:30 p.m. According to the latest reports, a New Boston Police officer and a “contracted security officer” were allegedly involved in the homicide of the 33-year-old civilian who was not associated with the installation.
