Editorial: A fun, free way to bolster a child’s safety

The nightmare scenario of a missing son or daughter is one we’d rather not contemplate.

It’s estimated that up to 2,300 children are listed as missing every day in this country.

Being prepared for such a possibility ensures the best chance of finding that family member safe and sound.

The Fitchburg Fire Department, along with a local masonic lodge, teamed up to offer families the resources they need for such an emergency — in a kid-friendly way.

That’s what occurred on May 7 at the COVID-delayed sixth annual Fitchburg Safety Day and Child ID Program, sponsored by firefighters and the Charles W. Moore Masonic Lodge.
